RP journal for a young Balder from Marvel. He is Thor and Loki's shining brother taken from a time when he is very strong-headed and playful.

PERSONALITY

Tellingly, Balder is introduced twice in the comics. He is Balder the Brave, a young man who battles alone without fear despite being outnumbered by giants. He's flippant towards his brothers, a grown man poking at them, throwing snowballs, and making fat jokes.

But he is also introduced as "Donald Blake," a wise and mysterious ally asking questions to help lead Thor to his own answers.

Balder saw the future, saw everything significant before it came. He saw his death, the death of Asgard, and the punishment of Loki, and yet he acts like a moron. One could say that knowing that his fate is sealed gives him a certain amount of freedom. Knowing that the worst is coming means that nothing worse that the future can happen at present. Yet part of the reason Balder is killed is because he refuses to believe his brother would betray him. Balder is trusting, and he is also in a sort of denial of the black cloud hanging over his life, so he will fly just to prove that those clouds can't touch him. He will joke and play and let his wisdom fall to the wayside until he needs it, because today won't last forever.
